St Simon & St Jude with All Souls, Southport

Area	Southport is a seaside resort in the north west having the famous Victorian Lord Street shopping and often described as England’s Golfing Capital with 7 championship level courses. Our parish is a residential area about 2 miles from the town centre. The parish has to be generally regarded as ‘predominantly working class’. For further info www.visitsouthport.com
Ministry	We are looking for a Ministry Trainee (MT) for the year Sept 2008-Aug 2009 (with possibility of 2nd year) to work alongside our minister and church leaders. We have recently completely refurbished and extended our Church buildings and are now concentrating on building the spiritual church and have been encouraged with several new families joining us in recent months. We are an evangelical church and are committed to bringing the gospel to our parish through various activities and our school. The MT will gain experience in all aspects of church life although likely to concentrate on youth and getting involved in twenty - thirties ministries. More formal biblical training will be provided through the North West Partnership Ministry Training Course. This position would suit someone who wants to work and gain experience in a modern and friendly church.
Accommodation	A congregation member (widowed lady of mature years) has offered to share her home as accommodation. This is a 4 bedroom house just 4 minutes walk to the Church. We will provide a grant to cover living costs.
